Fender Precision Bass with Maple Fretboard1983 - Black w/ Kahler Tremolo and Hipshot D-Tuner
Billy Sheehan, eat your heart out! This is a fantastic find, a real player instrument that is cool in all the right ways and unique with it's distinctly early-80's vibe. All the classic P-bass you could ever want, plus the functional additions that make this bass something just a bit more than your average bass.
This instrument has been professionally set up and inspected for defect by Gabriel's Guitars of Spokane, WA. It has a fresh level, crown, and polish which was also performed, and it plays beautifully.
This bass has average wear for an instrument of its age, with a few dings/dents/chips here and there, but nothing that affects playability whatsoever. The Kahler tremolo is a cool addition that does not affect tuning stability. An early Fender-branded Hipshot D-tuner allows the low E string to drop to a D with the flip of a switch. The pickups have been upgraded to a Seymour Duncan set which sounds perfect on this instrument. The neck is straight (correct relief) and the action is a set to a medium-low at 5/64 on the Bass side, 2/32 on the treble.
