Vintage Rare 1978 Gibson RD Artist Bass Sunburst 4-String Bass Guitar in Case
Up for sale we have a Rare Gibson RD Artist Bass Guitar in Great Condition. The body has some signs of use and wear along the years. Has dings on the body, scratches, scuffs, chips to the paint. However, there is nothing major that impedes performance of the bass. There are no cracks in the body. Lacquer seems to be in Good condition as well, some signs of nicks and chips. There is no Bowing or warping on the neck or the body. Truss Rod is in Good condition. Overall we would consider this bass to be in very good Condition.
The Gibson RD77 Artist Bass was introduced in 1977 and featured MOOG active electronics inside a modified Thunderbird shaped offset body. Bob Moog personally designed the active electronics which included a compression circuit for the neck pickup and an expansion circuit for the bridge pickup. The circuit also included a spunky active preamp boost.
This RD77 Artist Bass is in very nice original condition and is ready to go back to work. This particular guitar received some very nice sticks of aesthetically pleasing Maple for the body. It's setup with with a straight neck, low action. The MOOG electronics are untouched and in excellent working condition. The case does show wear from storage and a few of the spots have been touched up with black marker. The guitar shows very little wear but does have some chafing on the sides of the headstock, see photos.
This Electric Bass Guitar is a real cool, smooth guitar. All electronics have been inspected/tested
Gibson hard case included.
